Poster for Joséphine Baker's first engagement at the London Palladium, part of a tour she undertook for Moss' Empires in 1937 and 1938. Joséphine again headlined at the Palladium in 1974, and returned shortly afterwards to appear in the Royal Variety Performance alongside Perry Como and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. She died on 12 April, 1975 several days after the gala opening of her new show: "Joséphine", celebrating her 50 years on the Paris stage.
