This building was reconstructed by Frank Matcham within an existing shell and reopened i9n 1897. The ancient Red Lion had been converted in 1836 with a concert room; it became Turnham`s Grand Concert Hall in 1862 and finally in 1864 was transformed into The Metropolitain.
