Commencing June 27th, 1938. First appearance here of the Continent's most glamorous personality - Joséphine Baker, direct from The Folies-Bergere, Paris; Western Brothers (Kenneth & George); Forsythe Seamon & Farrell; Hal Menken; Oxford Five; Ted Ray; Archie Glen; Buster Shaver with Olive & George; The Three Swifts; Gaudsmith Bros; Ambrose presents a team of radio favourites with Evelyn Dall, Max Bacon, Vera Lynn, Les Carew and the Ambrose Octet.

Poster for Joséphine Baker's first engagement at the London Palladium, part of a tour she undertook for Moss' Empires in 1937 and 1938. Joséphine again headlined at the Palladium in 1974, and returned shortly afterwards to appear in the Royal Variety Performance alongside Perry Como and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. She died on 12 April, 1975 several days after the gala opening of her new show: "Joséphine", celebrating her 50 years on the Paris stage.
